Q1.

How safe is the operation?
The industry safety records for STS transfers is very good, the GAC group has been carrying out transfers since 1979 without incident.

 

Q2.

What do I have to do to carry out a ship to ship operation?
Just contact GTS and give the Area location, quantity, date range and ship names and we will do the rest.

 

Q3.

What about local Authorities, Port control, Port dues etc?
Since most of our operations are carried out OPL there is no dealings with local Authorities or Port control, and no Port dues. There are some exceptions like Vietnam and Fujairah , but you will be well informed.

 

Q4.

How much will it cost?
This is dependent on the Area Location and the Quantity. It is more costly if we have to transport our equipment away from base, and the time will be based on the quantity of cargo to be transferred, weather conditions, etc. A competitive quote will be sent when your enquiry is made.

 

Q5.

How much notice do I need to give?
We would like as much notice as possible, but can mobilise with as little as 12 Hours notice if the transfer is OPL Fujairah.

 

Q6.

Can you carry out the transfers with all types of tankers?
Yes as long as the vessel and crew can follow the OCIMF guidelines.

 

Q7.

Does the master and crew need to be experienced in STS transfer operations?
No, an experienced mooring master oversees all our operations, from beginning to end.
